Comrades and Ladies. We are into November real soon, then we start the holiday season. Please make it a safe one. If you party hard please think of a designated driver or taxi. We have a number initiatives working in the Canteen. First is the Coast Guard "Wings of Faith" collections for the Christmas Charity fund at the Coast Guard Base chapel. I have set a target of $1000 for this I hope we can make it, last year in a hurry, we were able to put together $500 I am sure with a couple of months we can make it. There is a raffle for a power washer to help with the this important fund raiser. We will draw for the winner of this on Dec 1. It is directed to helping the members of the Coast Guard here in our community that may be just a little short this year due to some sort of hardship. It is administered by CG Lt. Chaplin Tannis. Lets see what we can do. Next we have a box in the Canteen to collect gifts for the Marine Reserve "Toys for Tots" collection program. So if you can provide a new and packaged (not wrapped) item that will be fantastic. And lastly not forgetting the lonely and nearly forgotten Cats and Dogs we are also collecting donations for the SPCA here in E-City. I would love to have a Pickup truck load to bring them. If you did not notice, the Painting of the Post Home has been completed. There are many I want to thank for this project.
